DHL Purchase??

From everything I saw on the FedEx site and read in the Memphis paper ('nuf said), a month back it seemed the FedEx buying DHL's US ops was a done deal.
Next we hear of it, UPS is buying them.
Not sure what happened, but just spoke with a buddy at UPS who said they are yanking jets out of the desert to cover the huge increase in flying they will have.
My guess is FedEx was playing hardball with DHL and lost out, but I don't know.
I find it hard to believe that taking over their US routes would be anything but good.
